Come enjoy a taste of the gulf coast at a Shrimp Boil and Silent Auction held in support of Back Bay Mission. Back Bay Mission, located in Biloxi, Mississippi, is a community ministry of the United Church of Christ. The organization serves the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the wider church community by faithful witness for social justice and compassionate service to the poor and marginalized. They offer programs such as homelessness prevention, a day shelter, a food pantry, and the building of homes for veterans. The ministry was a primary force behind rebuilding after hurricane Katrina.

First Congregational Members working at Back Bay MissionThis year, Back Bay Mission celebrates its 90th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, First Congregational has pledged $9000 in support of the mission. First Congo has a long history of active participation in the mission. We began taking mission trips to Biloxi on a consistent basis in 1992, and in 2004 we were awarded the Congregational Stewardship Award from The Council for Health and Human Service Ministries for our outstanding support of Back Bay Mission. Over the past fifteen years, we have contributed over $140 000 in support of Back Bay, including over $40 000 for Katrina relief alone.

Please consider joining us on December 1. Proceeds will be applied towards our $9000 pledge.
