ANNOUNCING! STEPHEN MINISTER TRAINING

First Congo's church family is experiencing high demand for trained Stephen Ministers. Stephen Ministry can best be described as one-on-one supportive, listening care to people in crisis or transition. Stephen Ministers are not expected to have all the answers; their most important role is to be there to walk the journey with their care receiver.
Training begins January 20 and runs through May 2. The schedule starts with a weekend retreat January 20-22 followed by weekly classes every Wednesday, beginning January 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Interested candidates must be able to make a commitment to this timeline as no more than 2 classes can be missed. Fifty-four hours of training is required to become a Stephen Minister.
