 John
grew up in the Philadelphia area and attended Bucknell University,
where he received a degree in English Literature. He received his
Master of Divinity degree from Drew University School of Theology in
Madison, New Jersey, and did further study in marriage and family
counseling with the Westfield (NJ) Counseling Center. He has served
at First Church since July of 1983, having served for nine years as
Senior Minister of the Glen Ridge Congregational Church in Glen
Ridge, New Jersey. John's primary responsibilities at the church
include worship leadership, staff coordination, teaching,
administrative work, pastoral care and counseling. He is active in
many community agencies and enjoys running, backpacking,
kayaking, reading and music. His wife, Susan, is a professor of
Psychology at UW-Oshkosh. They are the parents of two children: Katy
and Colin.
