Youth Group

All teens of the church (and their friends) are invited to become part of our church's youth group family.  Our programs are designed to challenge faith, strengthen friendship, and deepen commitment to one another and to God.  Through worship, fellowship, education and service, we aim to engage students through a variety of activities in order that they may experience Christ's love in a multitude of ways.  Our great hope is for students to not only grow more deeply in their own respective faiths, but also grow more deeply in their collective Christian community.  “For where 2 or 3 are gathered in My name, I am there among them.”  (Matthew 18:20)

Senior High Discussion Group

Due to popular consensus, our Senior High Discussion Group will meet regularly on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 in the Common Grounds.  Beginning Sunday, September 27th, all senior high youth and adult leaders are invited to gather for faith-based discussion and connection.  We hope that you'll make this a regular part of your week! Sunday mornings will be structured as follows:

*Senior high students are encouraged to attend the 8:45 worship service.

*Immediately following the 8:45 service, an informal coffee fellowship time will occur in the
      Common Grounds until 10:30.

*At 10:30 we will begin our Discussion Group which will then run until 11:30.

This time together has proved to be so vital, and many have claimed it to be the "most important part of the week."  Please join us for this time of connection and challenge in a safe and welcoming place!  (Please note that on mornings designated as Family Sundays, we will not have our normal gathering, but will instead attend worship as a group.)

Middle School Youth Group

Our regular educational Wednesday evening sessions from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. are reinforced by many planned fellowship activities and service projects throughout our program year together.  These activities (bowling, paintball, making meals for the Emergency Shelter, Christmas caroling to the elderly, etc.) give us the chance to have fun, come to know one another better, and unite us in service to others.  Students are encouraged to participate in as many events as possible!  Come one, come all!  Bring your friends and expect a great time!!

FELLOWSHIP AND SERVICE

Because we believe that strong Christian faith is rooted in strong Christian community, we like to offer many fellowship and service opportunities to students in both the Middle School and the Senior High Youth Groups.  Such activities over the course of the year can include:

  • Apple Picking/Pie Baking/Pie Delivery
  • Emergency Shelter (breakfasts and lasagna-bakes)
  • Lock-Ins
  • Girls’ Nights
  • Youth Sunday
  • Movie Nights
  • Caroling for our shut-in members
  • Summer Mission Trip (for Senior High)
  • Bowling Parties
  • Babysitting for the congregation (at Christmas time for last-minute shopping purposes)

Please watch your mail closely as we will be in touch with this year's list of opportunities for both fellowship and service.

MISSION

A summer mission trip is offered to students who are considered "incoming freshmen" to those considered "outgoing seniors."  People are always needed to help plan for, organize and chaperone the trips.  Should you have any interest, please contact the Church Office.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Our quality programming relies in large measure upon the direct involvement of our church's greater membership. We are always looking for volunteers and are in current need of:

*ADULT LEADERS:  These special folks come together to help our senior high students lead and facilitate various topics for discussion
during their Sunday morning Discussion Group.

*MISSION TEAMERS:  From planning and creating our missionary strategy to implementing and chaperoning our actual trips.  This is a
really special way to become involved in the life and mission of our church and have a life-changing experience while you're at it!

*VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS:  These are the ring leaders of our program.  We call upon these folks when we're in need of anything at
all, from treats to transportation.  They get on the phone and work their magic with the lists they've been given and line up the help.  If you
have a love of gab, this is the job for you...

*CHAPERONES:  We are in constant need of chaperones!  From helping in the kitchen during baking projects to chaperoning trips.
Please take a moment to look over the list of activities and service projects above and see if any would interest you as a chaperone!

*BAKERS/GOODIE PROVIDERS:  One of the easiest ways to help our program is to simply come to church on Sunday morning with
goodies in hand and offer them to our students for their Sunday Morning Discussion Group.  you can believe that this is a worry-free way
to volunteer that has a BIG impact!!  Treats are always needed and appreciated.

Please contact the Church Office should you have any interest in helping these growing programs in any way.
