Right now, enjoying being outside might be a reality that is hard to believe in, but it will be here before we know it. I have been thinking (and planning!) a lot for this summer and carefully considering this first year of Wilderness Ministry opportunities. From backpacking on Isle Royal to canoeing the border of Canada, there are several wonderful opportunities to enjoy outdoor recreation, build an awareness of God’s presence and have a lot of fun along the way! But today, there are three important things I want to share with you.

First, now is the time to register for the trips. Each trip already has participants and one is almost closed.

Second, don’t wait for a coming year to sign up: this might be the only time an experience is offered that you want to enjoy.

Lastly, please help spread the word about these experiences. This is a joint effort between FCUCC and United Church Camps Inc., and we need all four trips to be filled for this ministry to take place. Thanks for your help! Here is an overview of the 2019 opportunities:

  • Adult Isle Royale Backpacking UCCI, May 18, 2019 – May 25, 2019. This trip originates out of Moon Beach and is available statewide to anyone 18 or older
