PALM SUNDAY (April 10)
We will gather in the main parking lot for a procession with palms as we experience this wonderful festival Sunday for both 8:45 and 10:30 AM services. Music will be provided by the Sanctuary Choir, LU Music Scholars, and John Daniel, trumpet soloist. A Pancake Breakfast will be offered by the youth in Fellowship Hall between services. NOTE: only the 8:45 AM service will be livestreamed.
MAUNDY THURSDAY (April 14)
We will observe the traditional order of Tenebrae with Holy Communion at 7:00 PM. This candlelight service is a recollection of the events of the passion of Christ as told through the four Gospels. Music will be provided by the Sanctuary Choir and the LU Music Scholars.
GOOD FRIDAY ECUMENICAL SERVICE (April 15)
This will be held at First United Methodist Church (325 E. Franklin St.) beginning at 12:10 PM. Planned in partnership with six downtown churches, the service will feature a moving and creative worship experience.
EASTER SUNDAY (April 17)
We will celebrate the Resurrection in the Sanctuary at 8:45 and 10:30 AM. Reverend Steve Savides will offer the sermon and music will be provided by the Sanctuary Choir, LU Faculty Brass Quintet and Timpani, and the LU Music Scholars. Children are encouraged to attend either service. An Easter Egg Hunt will take place in Fellowship Hall and (weather permitting) the church’s backyard at 10:00 AM. NOTE: only the 8:45 AM service will be livestreamed.
