Alternative Christmas Market

Gifts Inspiring Change

The annual Alternative Christmas Market, held on a Sunday morning in November, provides the opportunity for you to purchase fair-trade items and make charitable donations as “alternative Christmas gifts” for your family and friends. Enjoy brunch, browse the gift display tables and learn more about a variety of needs in our community and worldwide.

The Alternative Christmas Market is a unique way to honor special people on your Christmas list with authentic, life-giving gifts such as food, water, clothing, shelter, and medicine for those who are most in need throughout the world. When you make a contribution in honor of a friend or family member, you receive a card to present to your loved one explaining the program supported by your gift.

Since its inception in 1993, First Congregational’s Alternative Christmas Market has raised over $250,000 in gifts. Some gifts are affiliated with organizations such as Church World ServiceGlobal Ministries and Our Church’s Wider Mission, and other gifts support First Congregational’s local mission partners and other agencies.

If you miss the market, you can also purchase gifts through mid-December between worship services.
