Children and Youth
The information below describes a typical Sunday morning for children, youth and their families. For more information on children’s and youth programs, please see Children, Youth and Families.
Program (School) Year
8:45 AM Service
At the 8:45 worship service, children ages three through sixth grade start the morning in the Sanctuary with their families. Following the Children’s Sermon, children are escorted to Church School classes in the Children, Youth & Family Center.
Parents should pick up their children at the conclusion of the worship service. Pick-up locations are listed in the bulletin.
10:30 AM Service
Children remain in the Sanctuary during the 10:30 service. The Family Worship Area is open for children ages 3-10. A section is reserved for parents to sit near and supervise their children.
Middle School and High School Students
Youth in grades 7-8 attend worship with their families. High school students are invited to attend Youth Group in Common Grounds during the 10:30 worship service.
There is no Church School during the summer. Children ages 3-10 are welcome to use the Family Worship Area. A section is reserved for parents to sit near their children.
Using the Family Worship Area
Our Family Worship Area, at the back of the Sanctuary, is for children ages 3-10 who wish to remain in the Sanctuary or when Church School classes are not available.
We hope that children will enjoy the quiet activities provided, participate in the worship service as appropriate, and stop activity during prayers. Space is provided for parents to sit with or near their children and encourage them to play quietly, engage appropriately with the worship service, and care for them if they need a break.
